Mechanic Meets
Mechanic Meets are an ongoing activity at AFAL. Every month we conduct these mechanic meets to promote Caltex and educate the mechanics (Doctors of Vehicles). In the month of November we managed to cover 4 mechanic meets that reached 270 mechanics.
- 16th November, Kisii town (Kisii County) large format mechanic meet of 65 mechanics and select resellers attended total.
- Narok town (Narok County) 17th November small format 35 mechanics and SACCO members attended.
- 18th November large format Meru town (Meru County) mechanics meet 85 mechanics, Sacco members and resellers in attendance.
- 23rd November Eldoret town (Uasin-Gishu County) large format mechanics meet attracted 85 resellers and mechanics.
- There is a good relationship between resellers & mechanics we need to maximize on this.
- Despite learning through apprenticeship most mechanics are very knowledgeable on engine and compatible oils.
- Resellers are keen to grow their sales hence eager to know more about AFAL and the Caltex product range.
- Questions on oil pumps & relation to disposing of used oil, viscosity of oils and what is best.
- Good reseller product knowledge and stocking.
- Marketing support in terms of visibility and branding to be enhanced.
- Networking mechanics and resellers was a key point to ensure the mechanics know which resellers stock our products.
- Cross selling from oils to other range of products was achieved especially with the grease, coolants, break fluids, gear oil and ATF.
- Starplex EP3 named as the best grease in these markets.
