The AFAL Team in Kenya completed the Caltex Beba Beba Scratch & Win Promotion which was rolled out on March 1 with 23,398 valid entries of whom 5,709 were winners of various prizes including a grand prize of a pick-up, motorbikes, mobile phones, overalls, dustcoats, t-shirts and caps. On April 12, the first mega awarding of winners was held at Mudher Industrial Park in Mlolongo, Kenya with the three motorbike winners. In a bid to create further awareness and increase sales of Caltex lubricants, the AFAL team has conducted several garage storms around the country. The team literally ‘stormed’ several garages and auto spares around Nairobi, Kisumu, Kisii, Thika and Eldoret to talk to mechanics and car owners about the benefits of using Caltex lubricants. They handed giveaway items and reconnected with the people and communities that have a stake in Kenya’s automotive industry. About seven garage storms were conducted in March as part of the Caltex BebaBeba promotion. The on-ground activities were broadcasted live on radio across the country.

AFAL in Kenya led by Abhijit Sarmah is supporting the education of two orphans who used to live at the Kisumu Kachok Dumpsite in Kisumu County. David Otieno and Mark Vincent have finally been given the chance to pursue their secondary school education at Maseno Boys High School and Ramba Boys High School, respectively. The two boys were orphaned at a young age and have spent most of their lives scavenging for food and shelter and sold plastic, metal and cartons to fund their primary education. On February 17, Sylvia Okado of AFAL and a representative from the MajiMaji Kenya Trust visited Mark Vincent at Ramba Boys High School.

With the increasing importance of Resellers in the Consumer Market, the AFAL Team came up with the idea to appreciate their resellers. The initial roll out was suggested to be in the Nairobi and Eastern regions. Over 612 bodaboda in Kitale benefited from a free service motorcycle clinic from the Africa Fuel and Lubricants Limited (AFAL) as the company unveiled a new oil product meant for motorcycles. Speaking during the free service checkup in Kitale town, the Company’s Sales Executive Samuel Njeru said the new oil product known as Havoline Ezy 4T petrol engine oil will reduce the costs that motorbike riders incurred in servicing their motorcycles.

Kitale town (Trans-Nzoia County) has one of the largest 2 wheeler populations in Kenya. We
